Whining AC, what could it be?

I just charged the AC on my 92 GSX tonight using the R134 retrofit kit. Anyway it works fine and blows ice cold but it makes a whining noise. I'm sure it's the AC because the noise stops when I cut it off. Any idea what this could be?????

Mine on my GST did that. You could tell the noise was coming from the compressor. FOund out that the clutch on it was going bad, and one day the thing just locked up and I had to cut the belt off for the time being until I got a new compressor.
