I'm having trouble with the car starting. If the car hase set for a while it will start up fine but let it get warm and turn it off for about 5 minutes and it won't start back. The coil for the #2&3 cylinders is not firing when it won't start but #1&4 is. I replaced the coil and it didn't fix it. I though it was the power transistor so I replaced it. Nothing. :thumbdown I've narrowed it down to the ECU or the wiring because I can unhook the battery and reset the computer and it works again until I turn it off. I've heard to check the ECU, remove it take the cover off and check it for cracks and burnt spots and see if there is a fish smell. Is there anyway to check it with a multimeter or something like that. If it is the ECU What would be a good way to fix it? I've though about a AEM EMS or something like it but I don't know if you have to have your stock ECU or if it replaces it? I would like to know. What are my options for a replacement? Any help is appreciated.

O.K. I took the ecu out and opened it up. I really didn't see anything real bad. There were a couple of questionable light brown spots. There was a very small hint of a fish smell but nothing bad. I'm wondering if anybody knows if there is a DSM shop that will check it for me. I'm going to call a few on monday but if anybody knows one that will it might save me time calling around.

Probably the best ECU guy around for our cars. Get your capacitors changed because if there not already leaking, they will be. Also if your planning on getting a chip later on, ask him to socket it for you.

Hope this helps
