ive noticed that when i turn a corner my break light comes on. after i straighten out it goes off though. i dont normally break around corners, i usually down shift and roll around the corner, and this even happens if im stopped and go to turn. what could be causing this and is it a major problem?? thanks :talon:

As they said, check the master cylinder resevoir for fluid level, it is most likely low causing you light to come on during turning (the level float will drop turning the light on.)

Next check brake pad thickness on all four corners (on both sides of each rotor.) The hydaulics of the brake system are sealed and you should not lose fluid. Brake fluid level that low (enough to turn on the light) could indicate a leak or the caliper pistons being out far enough to lower the fluid level.

Brake pad thickness should be even on each axle (on each side of the rotor and on each side of the car.) If the pads are low (pad material thinner than the backing plate is a good indicator.) change them. If one or more brake pads on an axle is thinner post details here and I will help you to determine the problem.

HTH,
Joe

ps - Use only brake fluid to top off the master cylinder resevoir (duh!) I have at least 3 people a month come to my shop that use other fluids and destroy their brake systems internally. OMG

Thanks. I checked the break fluid not too long ago and it was fine, but I'll check it again. I know I need pads cause my e-brake sucks and the car shakes sometimes when I break, especially when I brake hard(possibly new rotors too, big break kit upgrade :thumb: ). I'll check for leaks and everything else too, thanks for the help. :talon:
