I have a 97 GS. Recently when I try to accelerate hard, in 2nd or 3rd gear, my car will suddenly shutdown, losing power and electricity for like half a second and then turn back on. Doesn't do it every time but has happened three or four times already.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong? I recently added an amp to my system so have been messing with the electrical system. I'm scared that one day it'll just die in the middle of a crossroad while an 18 wheeler runs me over....

Thanks in advance for the help

Check all your ground

Check the postive and negative terminals to the battery make sure there tight. when you accelerate your motor could be moving a ground wire and losing all power till you let off and the wire touchs the battery again or something like that??

Check the grounds and connections, make sure your + and - wires to your battery are not cracked or bare (and grounding out). Make sure your battery has enough juice.
