Hi.
I'm not a dsm owner, but my buddy has a 98 eclipse gst manual with 55k that seems to have no power and I'm trying to help him out.
*The car starts
*Idles around 800-1k rpm and it's steady
*The engine shakes
*It's driveable but drives like it's in super dupper retard mode
I don't think it's crankwalk since it's still so new, and don't think the engine itself is dead since it starts, but I'm thinking:
-Timing belt slip a tooth??? but I always thought the valves in a dsm would be bent if this happed???
-Vac leak? I didn't hear any leaks but I guess it could be possible, he has some wired looking vac test tool
When I looked at his car today I didn't get a chance to test compression nor had a timing gun avialable but I plan to this weekend. This car has been down since january 04 and my friend don't know shit about cars, myself I'm a honda guru.
