i own a 94 tsi and oil is leaking and(spraying) from somewhere on the driver side of the engine all over my altenator and belts, inside my timing cover and belt, its even collacting on top of my spark plug cover and leaking into sparkplug 1 and 4 mostley 1.
i'm running through a quart of oil every few days.
i've had this leak for about a year and a half very small but there, i changed the valuve cover gasket about 9 mounths ago and it still leaked a little.
i just moved a month ago and drive alot more on the freeway and this is when the oil realy been leaking bad.
i've tried cd2 stop leak with lucis oil stablizer and running chevron delo 400 15-40w and still leaks like a bi***!!
where could it be coming from, my valuve cover gasket, hesd gaskert ????

help please!!!!

STB,
Check the dip stick. removed it and re-insert it. It should "seat" flush and seal properly.

Check the oil cap. The rubber seal on the cap fails and can make oil pour out oto the valve cover.

Good luck

when my VC gasket was bad(the first time  ) i had oil on my valve cover and leaking down the back of the engine. could be your spark tube seal too, mine went bad also.

its also possible your valve cover is cracked and spraying oil..other than that, check the dip stick, VC gasket, although its a long way to travel, make sure your oil filter isnt backing off (doubting its that)

hey thanks guys for the info :thumb: i'm thinking its my dam vc gasket and the seal on the oil cap is worn (never thought of checking that) try both, but theres no oil around my oil dipstick even through it does pops out a little way about a 1/4 inch all the time.
IS there any special way to put the vc gasket on, last time I used a little RTV scilicone at the coners and by the came gears, should I do that agian?
also the last vc gasket I put on was from the dealership ($75.00) but i'm going to try on from autozone (fuelpro $39.99)
WHAT DO GUYS THINK? OMG

Your problem sounds like you need to replace your foront case seals. The same thing was happining to me, and my cam spun a bearing cause it wasnt getting enough oil; since it leaked out so fast. so you should check that out. :talon:

you might want to also check your oil filterto see if it is tight. big bolt you screw it on to came loose on mine caused lots of problems.:)
