hey guys i have a problem with my oil gauge. this all occured when i went to change out my a/c and alternator belt. i put everything back on and i went to drive the car and i noticed that the oil gauge is all the way at the top. i mean way at the top, then it started going down slowly, i thought the wire to the sending unit might have loosen but it was still on there. it wasnt on there tight, and when i went to make it tighter the wire broke from the sending unit. so today i reinstalled the wire to the sending unit and still the gauge inside the car doesnt work. any suggestions? is the sending unit dead? it was working before i did the install of the belts. please help.

Yeah, I actualy have the same problem. Happened the other day after replacing my alternator. Only oil light comes on and goes off. It stays solid when accelerating. It goes away or dims on and off at idle. I'm working on it but would love to get an easy fix from someone else who had this prob.
