ok first off i have a 91 eagle talon tsi not awd 5spd. just bought it and noticed some problems .

1. 2nd gear seems to have alot of vibration at lower rpm's and 3rd grinds slightly during engagement verry little though .

2.As of yesterday i was tweaking and it seems to have about 40-45psi of fuel pressure during boost at about 10#of boost. I ran it through 3rd and stopped and when i did i noticed white puff of smoke when i took off but not while driving just after idle and if you run the engine up to about 2-3k theres the puff . I checked the oil no evidence of water and no loss of coolant . but now it dosent seem to boost like it did its not reaching 10# and i noticed the oil pressure seems to go low at idle but goes back up as speed increases and the car drives fine except for the turbo kicking in hard at 4k.

3. im getting this constant squeaking up until about 35mph from the rear wheels ?

-The oil pressure needle change corresponse to the engine's RPM.

-Is it poosible for you to smell the smoke? kind of sweet is coolant(white), kind of bitter and stink your eye is oil(blueish), the way the smoke puff sound very much like worn valve stem seals.

-Try replacing the tranny fluid to see if any improvement.

Maybee it's just burning fuel if it only blows the white smoke when under hard boost.

And with the tough shifting, I would change the manual tranny fluid with the BG syncromesh or equivelent, it does make a big difference on a lot of dsm's.

As for the car only boosting at 10psi sometimes, if you are going off the stock boost guess gauge, it is not very acurate. But if I was you and you just got the car, the very best thing you can do is a boost leak test, go to the vfaq's and build a $5 dollar tester and check for leaks, you will be suprised at how much faster the car will be after the leaks are fixed. :thumb: :dsm: :laser:
