ok, a buddy of mine has a 98 gsx. had it about a year with pretty much no problems. then the alternator belt came off. not snapped, just came off. they said it was the "combaric stabelizer"??? anyways, got it fixed then 3 days later he left for some time. a friend was watching over it and they said it wouldn't start. when he came back, it wouldn't do anything except click. he took it to satan and they said it was crankwalk. now, when you turn the key, it does nothing.
ok....i would expect satan to have ruled everything out before they screamed crankwalk....but should there have been some warning signs? mushy clutch, dies when you turn corners, etc. he said the clutch was slipping some, but that was all.
could it be the starter, alternator, or something else.
what should we check?
