While I was trying like hell to get the rear fuel fitting off, the "metal line" in between the fitting and the pump plate started to crack. Then it started to spit fuel, it just cracked off. Ive tried welding on a new fitting and/or tube, but its impossible to weld it.

Mitsubishi dealers only sell the entire pump assembly, not just the metal plate/holder that I need, and its $500!! What should I do?!

Steps to fixing your problem.
1. Drill out the old line.
2. Get some new brake line with the same diameter as the old one.
3. Take the fitting off the existing metal fuel line and side it on the new one.
4. Flair the end to the correct size.
5. Gently bend the brake line into the same form the old fuel line was in.
6. Buy some rubber fuel pressure hose and connect the new brake line to the pump directly
7. Install hose clamps per end.
8. Re-assemble the rubber fuel line to the brake line/new fuel line you made.
9. Test that all is well and everything works right a.k.a. start the car and let it run for a few minutes.
10. If all is well take some J.B. weld and seal the gap around the new fuel line. Let if harden overnight.
11. Send me a check for $450.00 for the assembly instead of mistsubishi. ;)

Good luck!

Eheh, now my uncle says its fixable! I cut right before the front fitting and then flared it and also installed another fitting. Then Im going to buy some new line and bring it from the front fitting to the fuel pump cover. On the fuel pump cover were going to cut out the old line, and weld on a similar fitting thats on front onto the hole that the line went through.

Should be better (err cheaper) than the $450 dealer price jackup....umm I mean dealer stuff :D
