Ok guys, I did the leak test on my car and I've got a very noticeable leak coming from somewhere around the intake/throttle body area. What sucks is I can't find the darn thing to fix it. I can hear it plain as day leaking from under there somewhere, but for the life of me so far I can't pinpoint it. Any suggestions on the best way to pinpoint it? By the time I pressurize the system, then get my hand in there to start looking, I've pretty much lost all air pressure. I even tried having my wife pressurize it, but if you keep the air on, it pops the BOV. I just had the thought of maybe turning the p.s.i. down on my compressor to maybe 10-12 and clipping the air chuck on the fitting to put on constant air pressure.... I'll have to try that. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas as to what I should look at first? I did try spraying some soapy water in the area, but I think the leak is coming from underneath somewhere? Anybody from my area that has any experience with these darn things!?!?!? LOL.... If anybody has any suggestions as to what they think might be leaking from this area and how to find it, I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks.

I've heard the shaft seals leak pretty commonly. I was going to suggest the soapy water thing. I've also heard os some trick where you can run the car and spray carb cleaner and listen for the rpms to pickup. If you thinks its from the bottom have you tried replaceing the TB seals? Maybe one of your bolts is stripped out the manifold is only made of alluminum. Mine came that way.

A cheap thing to replace is the O-Ring on the BISS screw but it's on the top.

Thanks for the reply, I may try the carb cleaner suggestion. I'd heard of that before but didn't think about it. What shaft seals are you talking about? The TB shaft seals? Actually, the BISS is leaking as well. I had sprayed some soapy water around it and it started bubbling right up, but it isn't the worst leak, the other one is a lot louder. Do I have to get the BISS o-ring from the dealer or where do I find it? Thanks. :thumb:

Home Depot is your best friend man. You won't find more cheap fixs at any autoparts stores. You can find tons of o-rings in the plumbing department. I also built a leak tester out of their supplies for like 10 bucks

edit: oh ya I meant the TB shaft seals you could probably get them from home depot too. Or I've seen them around at a few dsm sites.
