Have to push clutch right to the floor just to shift...

Just to shift gears, I have to push my clutch in as far as it can go. Otherwise, it just doesn't catch. Do I need to replace the clutch, or is there a way I can get around this problem?? Also, my tranny seems to almost always grind while downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, no matter what I do.

Have you checked your clutch fluid level or have you bled the system to see if there is air in the lines?

My friend had a similar problem with his 240sx, and his mechanic found out that he needed a new master and/or slave clutch cylinder (can't remember which one if it was both)

No, I havn't checked the fluid or anything. To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure how to check for air in the lines.

-There're too many thing to list because you don't even know how to bleed the line, your best bed is to get a service manual or a factory service manual on cdrom .

-Check for leak along the clutch line from end to end, then bleed the line, if still doesn't work, try adjusting the master cylinder, if still doesn't work, try shimming the shift fork's pivot ball.
