High Oil Pressure

I have seen one other post about having high oil pressure on page 3 I think but I don't see whether or not the problem was ever fixed and I also think my problem is a little more severe.

I have an autometer oil pressure gauge and it reads in excess of 100psi at barely over idle..... I simply touch the gas at idle and the pressure jumps from around the 50-70 range to past the 100 mark....

Background info

obviously 4G63 Turbo
Built engine
Brand new engine

Has maybe a few hundred miles on it and thats it.... running on Haltech E6K

Very odd ran fine for about 3 weeks... not very much driving.

It has a greddy oil cooler kit on it... if that matters.

We went to install oil filter relocation kit and thats when everything went to shit... oil pressure went so high it broke the oil cooler... the cooler cracked and expanded on one side. We removed the relocation kit all together and problem is still there. Doesn't make any sense now.

I just pulled the oil pressure relief valve off and it seems fine but I can't be positive.

Any ideas please let me know

I have the same problem as you, after I installed a AFPR I noticed my oil psi was high even at idle, when it was normal before, I was thinking I screwed up a line or something, the crazy thing is, my car has never ran stronger, so I am not letting it bother me,for now.

It's partly because of where DSMs read the pressure, right at the pump. Mount that sender up on the head and you'd see much more "normal" oil pressures. I don't know why this isn't a routine practice with these motors, but I don't recall hearing of anyone doing it.

The same thing is going on with my car, as soon as it boost the oil pressure builds up over 100psi and my car smokes like a deisel and tons of blow bye.theres so much pressure in the head it will blow the dip stick out, the oil pressure regulater is bad and Im replacing it today Ill let you know what is the out come.

High crankcase pressure/blow by will blow a dipstick out, not high oil pressure
