I'm trying like hell to bleed this clutch, but after 1/2 hour and a pint of brake fluid, I still got tons of air coming out. I've never had to bleed a clutch this long before. The slave cylinder rod doesn't even move.
I replaced stock rubber line with SS clutch line. The piston in the cylinder popped/fell out while it was disconnected from trans (happens all the time). Now, there is no fluid leaking ANYWHERE. All the fittings are dry, no fluid under the black boot on the master cylinder inside the car. Nothing coming out of the slave boot either. Maybe the seal on the slave cylinder is bad and somehow air is getting past it? But wouldn't it leak while trying to bleed it? The master cylinder is about 3 yrs old, has maybe 30k on it, max. The slave is original, 158k miles, with the last 12k or so having a 2600 clutch, extended slave rod, etc.
Should I just pony up and get a rebuild kit or new slave? Or is my problem elsewhere?
Thanks,
Mike
