no power at wot(sometimes) and rpms go up slow

Ok well i got a 94 eclipse GS turbo abotu a month ago and its a good car but when it is at higher rpm's about 5000 to 7000 it has a kinda loud wind noise coming from the engine. And then it has also been doing this thing where it doesnt matter what gear im in but the turbo spulls up but it doesnt accelerate very fast at all but i mena it still blows off and stuff when i shift but its like im pulling a boat behind my car or something. It only does it everyonce and awhile not all the time...im kinda a newbie with these cars so i need help bad...the car is completly stock all ive done to it is a can cut....and when it does that wierd thing the stock boost gauge goes up (i know they arent accurate but im still gettign boost)...so plz help

Timining
change your tranny fluid.

Are you leaving the parking brake on? haha j/k. To me it sounds like a boost leak or you are running really rich maybe. Check all the pipes and make sure there isnt holes in the pipes or joints.

hey guys thx for the advice but i have some questions....if it was a boost leak wouldnt it be happening all the time?(because it isnt) and how do i check for boost leaks..if i look at all the pipes and they look fine..would that be explaining the pulling a boat feeling or could it be injectors maybe?O yea and one more thing my brakes sound wierd to..liek i know what bad brakes sound liek the squeak and stuff but mine make like a grinding noise when im reversing and i hit the brakes and sometime they liek make a clicking noise...idk but the main problem is the engine and whats going on with that...and matt my timing belt was done like 10,000 miles ago so im gonna rule that one out but thx..and i jut got a new clutch 700 miles ago and they put new tranny fluid in...but it was doing ti b4 the new clutch to idk im stumped so i need so more help from u guys..plz

I'm kind of in a similar situation, With the pulling a boat.. Or so I think that. My brakes, When backing up also make that godly moose call sound. And if feels like something is sticking? Maybe your brakes are rubbing and it is holding the car back some? I know i'm going to check mine to see if this is the problem..

id say boost leak. im getting it too now, feels fine most the time, but once in a while itll feel like you dropped an anchor out the back. the turbo is spooling just like normal, but it feels as if none of the air is getting to the engine. it happened to me earlier today leaving my work. i was in 1st and was turning left, and i felt it bog at about 2500 as i was merging into my lane, so still in 1st i hit it, and hit my full 15lbs, and i heard a high pitched whistle coming from the engine bay. then it hit 2nd and kinda felt better, but still the drag, then i hit 3rd, still wot at 15lbs, and it felt like normal 3rd wot feels. when it was bogging in 1st, it didnt even have enough power to get the wheels to spin like it normally does. but ill be getting some dejon tool LICP and UICP soon, so its not bugging me. besides i normally stay between 0-5lbs of boost, so i usually dont notice it.

sry for the long post, but it might help you relate to the situation. i might make me a dandy little boost leak tester this week and see if its something easy.

i had a similar problem a couple of years ago,with it still boosting and no power up top.for me it was a cracked exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housing.GOOD LUCK
