I have a AGP turbo on my car. IT is a RS49. I am oiling it from the filter housing and i am reading about 20psi at idle and as soon as i crack the throttle it jumps to about 90psi. I talked to AGP about a restrictor and i was told to use a nitrous jet. I went to a local shop that builds hoses and has fittings and they told me a few things. They had a adjustable FLOW CONTROL valve that would fit off the oil filter housing and there is a locking knob to adjust how much goes through. The guy told me that restrictors would not lower pressure just flow. I dont see how a restrictor would lower pressure either because your making the let smaller and it would increase pressure. I am just wondering if i choose to buy this unit if it is a good idea. I tried blowing through it and as i srewed the knob outwards it would allow a little more flow slowly,BASICALLY A ADJUSTABLE ORFICE. People say that a restrictor or adjustable orfice would lower the pressure and volume, i dont see how thats possible because looking at that equation PV=C (Pressure,Vollume=CONSTANT or a #) if you were to increase pressure volume would decrease. If you were to increase volume pressure would decrease. Basically if 10*6=60 to satisfy that equation 6*10=60 the 10 being pressuer in the first case and the 6 being pressue in the second. MY turbo is smoking when i rev the car up due to haveing the gauge jump to 90psi of pressure, i elimintated the Balance shafts too. I just cant take seeing the smoke anymore. Should i put a adjustable restrictor in or am i going to have to buy a regulator to regulate them. A restrictor will only lower the volume. I was wondering if anyone had ever even put a guage on there car after installing a restrictor. I do NOT WANT TO BURN THIS TURBO UP. AGP says nitrous jets but they dont know what size. I cant get a adjustable flow control which is the same thing. What should i do to keep this thing from smoking.
