Ok, I'm pretty sure that my car's problem is valve seals. Everytime I drive at anything above idle the car does not smoke. But when I'm at a stop light at idle it seems to smoke. If I let off the gas then tap it to move forward it stops completely then a few seconds later comes back blowing even more smoke. I take off and then no more smoke until I'm idling for more then a few minutes. Doesn't smoke under boost at all. The color is a white/greyish color and definitally smells like oil.

This really does seem to be a symptom of valve seals from what everyone tells me. But I just recently found that my valve cover was cracked a ton and had a large amount of oil in my spark plug well. I have some turbo shaft play also. But it doesnt smoke under boost.

My questions are, Are the valve seals the most likely problem? And how can I test for leaky seals besides just replacing them?

I'm am about to take the head off and send it to a shop for cleaning and seal replacement for about 100 bucks. I'll also be replacing the headgasket and a bunch of other gaskets since it's all off.

-I think you are confuse between valve seal and valve stem seal, bad valve stem seal is the one that cause burn oil, won't have to remove the head to replace them.

Yea typo thats what I meant. BUT you have to either buy that tool for 150 plus prices for seals to make it or take it somewhere and let them do it all. Im taking the head off anyways to replace the seals for ONLY 80 bucks plus a full cleaning. So it makes more sense seeing that I can just replace headgasket and all the other fun stuff while im at it.
