Ok, to start....
I replaced my power steering pump (had a leak) with one from a local junkyard that was clean and turned smoothly. I also replaced my alternator and alt belt at the same time. A few days after I did this my car would make a squeling sound (belt) when I started it cold, but would go away after like 10 seconds. I noticed there was some corelation with the clutch pedal and the squeling. As i let out on the clutch the squeling would quiet down or stop. If I pushed the clutch in it would get louder. I think I should be able to fix this by just tighting the belts up, but im not sure.
Now the second problem, which is the one that concerns me more. I was in a parking lot messing around and as i finished up a doughnut the wheel felt kinda funny and turned kinda sharp. As the car stoped I noticed some smoke coming from the engine bay so I got out immediatly and checked. It was coming from the power steering pump/alternator area. The smoke went away about 15 seconds after the car was turned off. After a minite or so I tried starting the car... and it idled poorly and was acting strange so i turned it right off. I stood around in the dark trying to think of what cold be wrong for about 5 minutes, then I decided to try to start it again. It started fine and ran just fine. I think the power steering went out though. In my old suburu when the PS went I could barely turn the wheel, but it wasnt like that this time. It was jsut a little harder then normal, especially when i was going slow. I just looked at it today and noticed some residue under the power steering resivoir but I cant be SURE that it is PS fluid. The belt on the PS pump is also fairly lose (possibly the belt that makes the squeling)
I know I was driving like a moron but who hasnt at some point. Any one have ideas what could be wrong?
