I had a 2.5 in HKS exhaust with a high flow cat. The car ran great no backfire everything was smooth. Then I just bought a Thermal 3in Exhaust with no cat and a 2.5in-3in Downpipe. Once that was bolted on Black smoke just keeps pumpin out everytime i gun it and when im really pushin it, the exhaust backfires and the it will Flash the CEL..I have DSMlink so if it flashes a CEL it means its hittin knock. I know its lean and stuff car is totally not tuned, but my car was runnin fine b4 this exhaust. Any suggestions on why its making my car run like a$$?

Well you now have less restriction on the exhaust, so it flows much better. So maybe you're getting boost creep now? What have you done to the turbo? What pressure are you running? And do you have a real boost gauge?

Black smoke can be somewhat normal, but could imply a air/fuel imbalance at boost... Or possibly, (worst case) oil burning in the turbo...
