okay guys, as you all might have read from the title, this is not ure average 'oh my plug wires aren't hooked up, oops' deal

my car doesnt start,it turns over like normal but doesnt catch on.

the short story is...
it was fine one day, sat it for a day, and it started but idled like crap, almost dieing, and chugging and huffing, black smoke out the exhaust, basically it couldnt even run, and it died on its own.
next day, it didnt even start, sometimes starying for a few seconds, and with that exhaust whistle, dieing in 2 seconds running very crappy.

went ahead, checked fuel, im getting a shitload of it, so thats okay.
checked spark, spark was there in all 4, altho it might have been weak.
checked compression, was 175-180 accross the board.

thing is my isc motor started clicking everytime the car was on, but i doubt or was told that the isc motor didnt matter for it to start.

my a/c sensor on my thermostat housing isnt plugged in, but that doesnt need to be in i was told.

im out of options on this one, and frankly i am about to drive this thing offa a cliff.
if anyone has ANY input lemme know on how to solve this.

my CAS is fine, altho im not sure of its position on the range slot, and my MAF is fine, my TPS is fine too....

i think it may be the ECU
my knock sensor LED was on continously, as opposed to it being on only on ignition (flickering and then going out) from a couple of days before the car started acting funny.

any ideas?

air + gas + spark---remove & look at any spark plug & see what you have.
Your case is sounds totally typical, except for the unplugged sensor. I think there's a chance that the sensor is for your EGR valve, which unplugged will dump exhaust into your intake when the motor is cold & foul up your spark plugs. If there was such a thing as an A/C sensor on your thermostat housing, what would be it's purpose in life?

checked the plus
coated in fuel
and black

and the dsm's at least mine does have a t-stat sensor for the A/C...dont ask me why

Clean up your plugs or get new NGK plugs, reinstall & hook-up your sensor & see what happens.
Black plugs means they got carboned-up, like I suggested before. When this happens, the spark can't get thru to burn the gas, which is why it's all wet, (like your disconnected A/C sensor friend).

well, checked my ecu, it was fine...only other solution is timing belt jumped a tooth or two, it looks perfect on the cam, but may have jumped on the crank...
only way is to note tdc in #1 and see if the dowel pins line up....dang

Also make sure the exhaust is not plugged.

Black smoke huh? sounds like way too much fuel maybe you have an injector that is plugged or a restriction in the exhaust...ie cat.

Okay, I give up, where exactly is the ignition capacitor?
Well on a 2g it's bolted on the driver's side rear of the intake manufold. It's a small aluminum cylinder 1" long with only 1 wire coming out of it (it's case is ground) thru a connector to the harness. It rarely goes out but you asked for any possibilities.
