What will happen? Does anything else break? Cuase mine broke while I was driving yetsterday. Its the belt the powers the water pump and what not. Do I need new water pump and whatever else it powers? I hope not Im really poor. :mad:

Did you overheat?

If the belt didnt whip and take out something else, and you didn't overheat, you should be ok.

No I didnt overheat but I was running just below the red for the drive. I was 15 min from home and I limped home driving more convservatively than anyones blind, deaf, and dumb grandmother.

LOL man, people use this "limping" the car home b.s. when their water pump is not moving any water; good god I cannot believe how many people do this!! shit I would push my car home before I "limped" it home with a non-working waterpump.

And YES you did overheat... :thumb:

This had actually happened to me once, my alt/pump belt blew off when I was getting on an on-ramp, instantly (as I was coasting shut her down) I called a friend to pick me up and I swapped the belt out right there on the side of I-5 at 12:30 am :cry: . I bet in that 15 minutes of driving you put damn near 10,000 miles worth of wear on your engine. :thumb:

So should I change the oil? I was gonna change the spark plugs and wires today but it got dark before I got the chance.

I got the belt on, that was a pain. My radiotor light is still on but its not running hot. Its normal. The bar is just to the right of middle.

Of Coarse you should change the oil. I would also drain/refill my coolant system (I think the "alternator" light you have mixed up with the radiator/low coolant light) check to make sure your coolant is at the proper level. But I love my car and spare no expense. I also would never have driven it 15 mins w/o a water pump tho (;

Another thing I would be concerned about is the fact that 2G's are prone to crankwalk, I doubt that heat did anything good for your main bearings either...

--edit--- sorry I thought you had a 2G turbo. disregard this.

Uh, 1992, that would be a 1G, so forget all that crankwalk scare.
I'm sure your motor is fine, just replace the belt.
