This is hard to explain, but every morning I come out to my 2g TSI, than it has trouble starting, and once it does it idles fairly rough and if you rev the engine than it will make a stuttering/popping noise. I have to wait a minute or two of this before it's finally good enough to drive off. However, it still makes this popping/stuttering noise out the exhaust pipe at higher rpm's, say when I try to pass someone or I'm at a stop and I try to hit the gas to go. It will pop/stutter and it will take awhile to get to speed, no matter how hard I hit the gas peddle. The harder I press down on the peddle, the more the popping noise. I have to let off alittle and then back on, etc. for it to slowly get up to speed. When it pops, black smoke comes out the exhaust. I took it to my mechanic, who replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires, and some rubber hosing that was supposedly leaking some fuel. This has done nothing for the problem. He has run out of ideas. Sometimes it doesn't even want to start after have been driven for awhile. I'll park and go inside for about a 1/2 hour, come out, and it will take 5 to 10 tries, with me pumping the gas peddle for it to finally start. Please help! Thank you for taking the time to read all this.

Hmm, kinda sounds like maybe your fuel pump is going bad. Mine did the same thing but all I did was take out my MAS and put it back in and it fixed it :D . I would try testing your fuel pump to see if it's going bad though. Did you say when you hammer the gas it just stuttuers and pops? Maybe you have a nice sized boost leak coming from sumwhere also. Try doin a boost leak test to see where your leakin because I'm willing to bet if it's not your pump, you have a boost leak.

:thumb: Thank you for taking the time in reading it and giving me your input. Since I've wrote that I have had others tell me that they think it's either a boost leak, fuel pump, or injectors. Unfortunately I recently was in the hospital and out of work for about 8 weeks, so I cannot afford to put any money towards the car. Anyways thnx. for the input.

You can always make a boost leak tester. Just go to your local hardware store and buy a few parts(not more than $10) and if you have an air compressor, hook it up or you could always use a bike pump. Not sure on the parts. Go to www.vfaq.com and go to intake and scrool down near the bottom and it gives you directions on how to make an intake leak tester. Good luck :thumb:
