I was out of town and my friend found that my 98 GSX wouldn't start. Now heres some history....Car was running fine (never had a problem) until about 3days prior to this....My drive belt flew off....Got it fixed that day. Everything was good to go. Well I leave for canada the next day and my friend looks after the car. Well he goes out to take it and it doesn't start. Just kept crankin but would never catch on. Well he checked if it was fuel related...and nope. He thought it could be ECU...Well after checking again he thinks it's grounded..or something related. While cranking the lights inside would die out like the battery was dead. Well he swaped batteries but of course it wasn't the battery. He checked the plugs and the wires...nope not that. He says he didn't get a spark. He checked all the belts...Seemed fine. Good timing... The mystery continues.
So I took it to the dealership (Dont worry...I cringe at the thought too ) just to get a firm word on what it is.
They call me up later that day and say..."well um...it's like there's no compression or somethin' we'll get back to you"
Now with hopes that they are just trying to cornhole me they say the engine has seized up. They want to qoute me on a new long block, or Short block, or am entire used engine.
Well before I go and order a slowboy block... Are there any other options that it would cause this problem?

Sometimes new batteries can be low too....battery charger or a jump
