just a few questions...JDM high idle

hey i got an idle question..i know there are a million ones already out there..but the search comes up with a million things and none of them seem to be of much help.

I just started my car with my new used jdm engine. When i start it up it stays at like 1500, then drops to 1000 after a while. After like 3-5 minutes it will start to go up to 1300, then drop down to 1000, then back to 1300, and it will keep doing it. any ideas? if anyone knows of a good thread about this let m eknow, thanks


also sometimes it takes a few times to start my car, but then after like two tries it starts right up...any ideas?

also where are the sensors for the radiator fans located...are they near the thermostat? how many are there?

sounds like your spark might be bad. i had gotten my wires sliced by the timing belt. surged real bad when i started it, it would start and die, then start and die, just about always stayed on the third try. but it would stay up for a minute, then idle from 1400-850 or so. but i have my idle up high so it wouldnt stall out as much. also, are you venting to the atmosphere? cause that could also cause a surge and to die.
