Odd performance after UICP and GM MAFT install, boost leak or bad tuning?

Just installed my blowby uicp w/gm maft and am seeing some weird stuff. Basically, the car idles fine with the base injectors set to 450 and the rest of the dials at 0, but when I accellerate, the car performs poorly. The turbo sounds like it's spooling before I even see boost register on my gauge, and the stock boost gauge will show like 7psi while my aftermarket one shows 1-2. I also get harsh shifts where it feels like the whole car hesitates or bucks a bit at shift, and when I do boost it feels like the car is stuttering.

I had a leak at the intake manifold that I fixed with a new gasket, and I checked all of the couplers to insure that they're not leaking either. I can't hear any strange leak sounds at idle or while driving. Does it sound like I just missed a big ass boost leak? Or is my maft not set up right? My logger cable should be here in a day or two, so I should be able to fine tune it, but I figured since my car is still mostly stock (intake and uicp) I could run it with base settings.
 
did you make sure when you installed the gm maf that you had it facing the right way? You have to make sure the arrow on it is facing your intake manifold.
