I hit a pot hole yesterday and the suspension started making a creaking noise. I popped the hood to this....

I was like "what exactly am I looking at" then I saw it. Dude, it looks like the air or oil or whatever is in the shock is gone. The rod/piston thingy shouldnt be up like that. In other words, I think its shot. Is the car lower on that side? Like leaning?

It acutally wasnt but this side of the car will not even flex when trying to pressure on it. Looks like I need a new shock.

That was no ordinary pot hole you hit. OMG

Damn Patrick. I had the same problem a year ago. Your shock has more than likely shocked for the last time, and need a new one.

Just checking, but if that was the only side to get roughed up, why don't you compare it to the shock on the other side of the car? Are the stabilizer bar links still good?, I had craking and rattleing when mine were abused.

not to jack your thread but if yuor gonna replace one front shock than just do them both at the same time. The hole you hit couldnt have been to big.... The one i hit last year cracked my rim straight in half was pretty funny. Anyhow sorry that happened crap repairs like that always suck to have to do.
