For about the last month I have been posting topics about the running issues with my car yesterday i finally got it to run right. I disconnected the recirculation hose from my bov and aside from the typical things you get from venting to atomosphere the car runs great. Could a huge leak from my bov have been causing the car to run so rich it would buck like crazy and now the large open source of air not be counted by the mas be balancing the effect of the leaking bov? I'm just trying to understand why this has seemed to fix the problem.

You know thats funny. I had my BOV recirculated thinking venting to the atmosphere was causing the bucking but it kept doing it. So I disconnected the recirculator and vented it to the atmosphere and its gones. Runs a little rich but no bucking.

Did you block off the recirculating hose or leave it open? Mines is open and it runs very well. Anyone have any other experiences with this?

Ahhh. that 'splains it OMG

Did you check for boost leaks? You may be compensating for a big leak post-Turbo by introducing additional unmetered air. The ECU would see say 30lbs/min of air read from the MAS and inject 12ms of fuel.. but would only recieve 28lbs/min of air due to boost leaks causing an over-rich condition. During Closed Loop your O2 would read this and scale back the fuel (up to your trim adj limits).. but under open loop you'd run rich as a pig.

A leaking BOV would not cause an over-rich problem if the hose is rerouted post-MAS as that air was already metered in a closed system. It would cause your turbo to spin faster to attain a preset boost level which would cause efficiency loss, more heat and less power.
