Ok, I just got my Eclipse GSt a couple weeks ago. It's been sitting in the garage since I can't drive it yet.(15 not gonna get driven till I turn 16 in 3 months) Anyways the parking/e-brake isn't working. I back the car onto a flat surface and put it in nutural(sp?) And pull the e-brake up, it seems stiff like it works. But then I try and move the car and it moves like the brake does nothing. What's the problem? Could it be some kind of cable that is broken? What should I look for? Thanks in advance!

If you kept it with the brake engaged for an extended amount of time, you might have stretched out the ebrake cables. Pick up a Chilton's Manual and they'll have a step by step on how to re-adjust your cables.

Yep its normal on older cars - my dads benz did the SAME thing. He used to drive it with the lever up and it drove fine (he didn't realize it), but once he tightened up the cables, that bi*** was back in action, but he never used it anyway ;).
