all of the dash lights are out in my TSi and the 10 amp fuse in the footwell is good, and all of the fuses in the panel under the hood are good. is there another hidden fuse somewhere, or is it possible that i blew out all of the bulbs in my dash at once? this isnt making any sense.

my stupid ass car is doing the same thing check your dimmer switch to see if its melting mine did that and im sure its a fire hazzard besides that idk what to tell you because i cant figure it out either and if you do figure out whats wrong post back and tell me

is there any way to test the dimmer because i don't want to have to go to teh dealer to get a damned dimmer switch if that isnt the problem. they worked fine earleir the day they went, then they just went out.

Well, I took the switch out, tested it, found it bad so I snagged a switch from a local guy with a partscar. Swapped it in and I was good to go again.

Usually though, problems like this are the dimmer module. It's pretty fragile in comparison to the headlight switch itself. Just wanted to bring up another possibility in case your dimmer module tests out OK.

i took the dimmer out. usually when these things get cooked you can smell them, right? how should i go about testing that?

Get a multimeter that reads resistance. There are 3 wires on the dimmer. The resistance between 2 of them should increase with turning the knob clockwise while between another 2 it should decrease. Between the last 2 it should stay the same (and not zero which would be a short and not infinate which is an open). I'm guessing it would be less than 100 ohms.
