I noticed a few weeks back that the two bolts that bolt the tranny mount to the tranny were actually missing on my TSi AWD. I went through the process of ordering them, and have tried to put them in, but it looks like whatever made the old ones come out stripped the threads... :|

So now the bolts will go in, and the one will tighten a little bit, but its so hard to reach that its almost impossible to torque to spec, and it just seems to keep turning - while the other just does keep on turning and will "click" and then not get any tighter - so it looks like the threads are stripped.

So, how do I fix this? The remedy that I can figure would be that I'd have to drop the tranny and have it "re-threaded" - but getting the tranny out is a HUGE pain and I'm not exactly sure how the process works.... This whole process is compounded by the fact that my landlord is trying to bully me and is giving me crap about my car being up on jackstands in the parking lot, so whatever suggestions anyone has, please help!!

*Edited*

Well, I'm gonna try to get a tap kit and see if I can get enough clearence out from the ABS unit if I remove the mount from the car - to see if I can't get away with NOT dropping the tranny.... what a PITA *sigh*

Avoid redrilling oversize IF possible & go to the closest American Course size. If they are thru holes all you need is a Starter Tap - You tell us? - Can you get in there? I'm sure you'll have t pull some interference but jeez you have to do that for every damn job on these things... & Some good Grade 5 or 8 Steel Bolts won't cost jack. :thumb:

& I swear if I pulled the ABS it would never go back.
