Problem with boosting?

My car just started to stutter when ever i would accelerate rapidly. I took it to a mechanic and he rode with me and said that it is where my turbo needs cleaned?, but he dont know how to do it...could this be the problem or is that too simple.

was it stuttering like cutting power on and off and rpms fluxuating, or was it an power loss and turbo was still spooling and engine rpms stayed normal?

I sorta had a similar problem. Check all your spark plugs and make sure they are gapped correctly and replace them if you haven't in a while.
