Boosting but Not..Please help

Hey everyone, I gotta slight problem, well it's a big problem..I'll be driving my car and ever once and awhile..it will show that i'm boosting, but the car will not feel like it's boosting...For example..it will show 15 PSI, but will the car will hardly pull...It's driving me nuts and I can't figure it out..Please help thanks....Dan

Does it studder? I had my 97 GSX do that when the spark plugs were starting to go bad, it causes a mis-fire and the computer retards the timing heavily thus canceling your horsepower...

yea mine does the same thing with no studder i have new plugs and new msd wires

I would check the timing first and also lower the boost to see if you can get it back to acting normal at lower boost levels. Sounds like you are detonating and the computer is pulling the timing.

whats the normal boosting?
i dont have anything done to the boost and on an aftermarket gauge it shows 15psi

Lol..I changed the wires right..Then I went to do a compression check...I pulled the wires and all 4 of them broke in 2...I was ever loving pissed..But, the boosting problem only happens every once and awhile...I'm only boosting like 14 psi...I just can't understand why it's doing this...If you need more info, I'll reply..Please keep posting i appreciate the input!!! Yea, if the boost gauge shows boost and your not feeling any faster, then my first instinct would be the same as Turbohappy and check your WOT timing curve and your o2 voltage. The computer WILL retard lots of timing to save the engine and in extreme extreme cases, it will limit the boost to 13psi (2gs for sure, not sure about 1gs). You can feel the loss of power without a doubt. If you don't have a datalogger to read timing, at the very least, hook your o2 wire up to a voltmeter and read WOT readings.
