I just bought a 95 GSX 5spd and unfortunately it decided to break. the car seemed great when i test drove it, it was wicked fast (i previously was driving a 91 toyota pickup mind u). any way i picked it up today and it didnt really seem to have the power it had had before. anyway, i take some friends for a ride and every time i let off the throtle it dies, and then i heard the engine start to knock so i turn on the engine and coasted to the nearest parking lot . my first thought was it was in need of oil, but the dipstick showed it at full. well we got it back to my house with the help of my father suburban and a tow strap, and now ive got no idea what i need to do with it. the car is very clean only has 48k miles on it, and is basisly stock execpt for an injen intake that one of the previous owners(2) had put on it. the guy i bought it from hadnt used the car in several weeks when i got it. can anyone tell me what happened and what i should do next?

PS when i parked it. it would make like a 10 sec buzzing sound every like 5- 10 minutes. r these things related?

Thats a little to vague for anyone to diagnose though,..Probably why you havent had any responses yet,..Did you get any "check engine light" and is it still on with the ACC on? If so, try and get a code puller (datalogger, OBDII, LED flash) and see what the code is,..

There is just too many things,..vacuum leak, dirty intake, ISC/IAC, idle switch,.the list goes on,..

But that is just one "cause",..Without any other knowledge of what problems the car may have previously, it could be so many things,..

Good luck and welcome to the DSM club,..the car is great, but there is a lot to know about the mechanicals and problems about it,..I suggest you read the vfaq.com to get to know your car,..

alright sory i forgot to mention that stuff

well i just went out to the car and turned it into ACC and i saw no lights come up, and when the car started dying on me i dont remember seeing anylights either

but i do know that was oil pressure was low and now it doesnt have any oil pressure

the car is completly filled up with oil but its not getting any it seems

Ok just for shiits and giggles find the clutch saftey switch and figure out how to start the car without pushing in the clutch. Do this in neutral of coarse. Then after it starts(If it starts) push in the clutch and report back what happens. If it dies , its bad , if it remains the same you are not that bad off, well at least for a few thousand miles. Im telling you this so you can possible diagnose crankwalk (just to be sure) http://www.roadraceengineering.com/walkingcrankshaft.htm
Also check all your intercooler pipes and intake hoses for being loose or damaged.
Just some info to keep in mind:
If you scan your codes and (if)the scanner brings up the crank position sensor, when you pull it out check to see if it looks gound-up in any way shape or form. If you visit that link i believe it talks of this.

Hope that ratled your bones

ok ok i think i might have stumbled upon what is going wrong

just by looking at the cam gears i can tell that they are off

the guy i bought it from said that he had recently replaced the timing belt, and now im fairly sure it was done wrong

would the timing being off be the reason for the knocking? cuase im fairly sure its the reason why its running like crap

ok seems when the dealer replaced the timing belts and what not, somebody forget to tighten Everything downOMG . so i figure thats why when i first drove it it ran fine, and then after its been getting worse :( and worse  . and of course now the car knocks like a beast and u can hear a belt squealing.

does this seem like it could be the cuase?

If its oyur cam gears and if the valves are hitting the pistons DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR!!! unless u want a blown motor. Get it timed properly ASAP. That sux 2...

If that beast is knocking too bad the valves are trashed and you need to get your head rebuilt or a new head. We have interference motors, valves can and do get bent and break! :thumbdown
I know it sux it happened to my friend

Man that sux. But make sure you check the headand see if the belt has jumped any teeth. If it has that knocking noise may have still been your valves. Just be on the safe side it would suck to have to do the timing belt twice.
