Someone who's not an idiot pls help easy question electrical

One of the wires on my temp sensor broke off. No surprise '91 talon its been run through a few too many hot cold cycles to not have worn down some of the wires. At any rate the wires for the temp gauge broke off at the harness on the thermostat (top plug). I took the whole thing apart and realized I didn't remember which wire was green and which was the black...err which side they went in.

So could someone check for me and describe it while your looking at the side the wires go in the back of the plug with the clip is at the top and say which side the green wire goes in left or right.

it won't matter if you are talking about the wires i am thinking of from your question. resistors have no polarity

and that is all a temp sensor is, a heat sensitive resistor

they color the wires for ease to pick out the same wire when trouble shooting the car it makes it a lot easier when you have a wad of wires to pick through and find the right one
