2g mas to 1g problem

recently purchased a 2g mas.

my buddy just switched to a diff. intake on his 2nd gen and gave me his old injen one so i could put it on my first gen w/ the 2g mas.

upon installing everything, my buddy and i noticed that there is no freakin way that it was gonna fit, the way everything lined up, we could not figure out how to put it in. the intercooler piping was blocking the way, and seems there just wasnt enough clearance.

now is it because im trying to use a 2nd gen style inake?? because ive seen tons of 1g's using the 2g mas?

do i need to get one of those custom 1g to 2g mas intakes???

I just cut my dejon intake pipe down to about 5" used a 4" to 3" coupler on one end and got an adapter from my buddy Kevin that lets you just clamp a filter right on the other end. Its a tight fit no matter how you do it. Just takes some thinking, modification, and a few trips to home depot.
