This morning i was on my way down the highway and the car was running fine, all of the sudden the oil pressure gauge went all the way down below L.... The car continued to run fine and I still pulled over to check as much as I could. It looked fine, everything i knew of was tight, car still ran fine. I think the gauge might just be bad, anything else to check?

Well I am assuming you checked the oil level first, right?
The sender unit often comes unhooked or the wire can get broken easily. Look at the oil filter assembly - the sending unit for the gauge is a brass colored unit shaped sort of like a top-hat. I think on the 2g's it is pointing toward the back of the car, angeled down (the oil filter unit is just inside your drivers side wheel well). There should be a little wire with a small black clip that attaches to the end. Make sure that wire is still there and attached. Hopefully that is all that is wrong.

Yup, sensor wire. :thumb: Very unsettling the first couple of times it happens. Mine's about to get a nice dab of silicone seal to keep the effer on.

A DSM with no oil pressure makes a god-awful racket as the lifters collapse.

Whew... thanks guys, ill have to check that once i get home. I figured it was something easy like that.

Thanks again.

Does anyone have a picture? I don't want to unhook something I shouldn't.
thanks

I'm missing the black clip and the wire is not there do u guys know a way to wire it up or something.
