Hey all. Ive got a odd problem. My gas gauge has something wrong with it, its reading a full tank as a 1/4 tank and once i use a 1/4 tank of gas im having to just guess at it about how much gas is in the car cause it reads way below empty, it sucks. O and something else odd, even after the gauge gets as low as itll go the gas warning light never comes on. I tryed taking the clear cover off the gauges in the dash and pushing the neddle up to full but once i turn the power on it just moves slowly back down to 1/4 tank, if its got a full tank that is. I think i may have messed it up when i did my fuel pump rewire, i did it wrong the first time and had to reverse my setps then do it right. The first time i did it i ended up cutting a blue and black wire down by the fuel pump instead of the yellow and something wire that i was supposed to cut. SSSoooo i put it back together with some quick disconects, the only thing i can think of is that blue and black wire has something to do with the fuel level gauge and ive got a bad connection there now or maybe i reset something  I guess it could be a possiblitiy that i did the fuel pump rewire wrong the second time i did it and just think i did it right and thats whats messing up the gauge....

any ideas???im fresh out and i really need to fix this :(

Did you change your fuel pump recently? The float inside the tank loves to screw things up when not reinstalled correctly.

nah, havnt changed any of that stuff. All ive done is rewire the stock pump and accedentally cut the wrong wire.

YOU have to remove the fuel pump assembly & open up the little box that the floater connects to. there is a coil in there that might be corroded. clean it and or repair it & you'll be all good.

okay ill give that a try, if someone could give more details it would be cool to, but ill try and just go with what ive got and see if it helps. :thumb:

Ive not tryed to do what G-unit said yet just cause im unsure of what to do really. I have noticed that my gas level warning light does work though so i can at least know when its time to fill up.
