OK, just got my re-manufactured ECU put in the other day and today was the first time I had a chance to run the TMO with it. Warmed the car up for about ten minutes, then took it for a quick drive around the block. Got home and checked the logger and it shows 43 counts of knock. Even worse than before I had the ECU work done. Havn't had a chance to look inside the head, but last compression check was good across the board. Have an exhaust leak at the O2 housing, but other than that everything seems fine. What might be causeing the knock and what else should I look at. Thanks.
Will try to upload a TMO image if I can.

How much boost are you running? race gas or pump?

Running 91 octane and not really sure what the boost is set at. No boost controller or aftermarket boost gauge installed yet. Turbo is a K26/6 from a 944 turbo I think. Also, O2 housing has a custom O2 dump on it.

Yea you need to find out the boost, a boost gauge should be your FIRST mod! You may need a bigger intercooler, depending on how big that turbo is (im not familar with it). One thing tho, was your timing being pulled at all? Cause 43 counts of knock is past deadly, they say 35 counts will kill an engine. It could be your knock sensor. Also do you have lifter tick, it could be phantom knock. Good luck!

That $50 boost guage is worth a lot of time, you better buy one, dont run the risk of meltdown! I was having the same problem, 43 counts of knock just cruising around,go WOT and the knock would go way-down, to make a long story short, it was several boost leaks, that was causing the knock, check for leaks, check out vfaq, there is a easy to build leak tester there!

Yes, timing was being pulled. Will have the boost gauge and MBC on this week. Was waiting to see if I was going to replace the motor or just rebuild it before INstalling everything I have purchased so far. Looks like I'm keeping this motor so might as well install everything. All the aftermarket parts that are on it now came on the car. I'm still not sure of all of them. Would like to have a DSM expert in the lower bay area check the whole car out, but need a way to transport the car to shop. Any good DSM tuners in the San Jose area???
