Hi, I've never had a turbo before, and I have some questions, hope you don't mind. White smoke after idling for a few minutes, dosen't have the little burst of speed it used to, has burned a quart of oil in about 2 or 2.5 weeks, when driving at a steady speed, can feel the car revs faster and then slower, without changing speed or rpms. But wait, there's more
After I start the car and back up, when I put it into drive, if i don't let it sit for a bit, it feels like it's gonna stall, but dosen't. Kind of like it trips. Was told I need a new turbo, which is fine, I'd like to get a bigger one anyway. So, besides a new turbo, what else is wrong with my car? Thanks in advance for any and all help. It's greatly appreciated. :thumb:

i wouldn't jump to conclusions about a turbo just yet. first off you said white smoke that immediately says possible head gasket. next you accelerates /deccelerates on its own that could be a mas sensor, whether you are burning oil or just blowing it into your intake system you need figure out. you are probably doing both but not burning as much of it as you think
have you cleaned your intercooler lately.

also take off the intake hose the black rubber hose from the air box look inside the turbo are the fins damaged at all, next stick your fingers in there and try to spin the turbo. does it spin pretty freely. next try to jiggle the axle of the fins. try to pull it back and forth. if it moves a lot you definetly need a turbo. also if there is a lot of oil in there the seal are shot. and it needs a rebuild. but first thing first compression check. then check the turbo.

if all that checks out you could have a broken compression ring and a bad mas sensor.

there is so much it could be i need more input about the actual parts of the car

Burning oil...you'd better check your gasket like x camaro owner said, and another thing, you get jsut get a bigger turbo and make things all better, in fact without doing the internals 1st you'll have more problems.
