Need Answered Quick!!!!

I need to buy a new head and cams and need some quick info. 1st will a 1g head bolt right on to a 2g motor? if not what must be done to get this to work and what are the gains from this. and 2nd what kind of cams should I go with? just regular 1g cams or aftermarket? im on a MAJOR budget!! help. thanks.

Assuming you have the 2g turbo motor, the 1g head will bolt up. I'm not sure about the difference in cam gears, but I know that the 1g head flows alot more air than the 2g. In order to complete the swap to gain any benefit, however, you need to have the 1g intake manifold and get a 1g throttle body. Again, not sure about the cam gears, but just having a better flowing intake will help you a lot. If you end up getting aftermarket cam gears, you will need some form of tuning and datalogging for sure. Check www.dsmtrader.com for some good deals on a 1g head, intake, and TB. You could probably get everything for under $200.

http://dsm.aenewton.com/1g_head_swap.htm There is a good how-to about swapping a 1G head on a 2G motor. And also not to contridict you but you dont need any additional tuning for HKS 264/264 or 272/272 cams. The 272/272 cams (or 264/272) would be a nice addition and it won't ruin your idle.

ok well i dont have that much money so ima just go with the stock 2g head and 1g cams? will that be better than 2g head and 2g cams? im so short on cash now and just want the car back together. so help
