I just recieved my new greddy blow off valve and intercooler piping. I have 95 eclipse gsx! Upon install of the piping i had some trouble ataching to the intercooler...but finally got it on and tightenend. When i start up the car i get a check engine light and the car is ver loud upon reving. I also hear a sound like water pouring when i rev the engine.

anyone have any clue whats going on?

thanks :dsm:

maybe be sure that you tightend all of the piping down and you dont have any leaks or anything. Did you forget to hook anything back up that you disconnected?

Go over your hoses again. Did you take off your Throttle body elbow? If you did theres a gasket in there that you might have dropped off. That sound your hearing is probably a leak. As big as a vaccume leak, not just boost leak. Its going to kill your idle and stall your car. Make sure you plug that MAS back in and disconnect the battery and step on the brakes.

alright i will try that..i started reading around last night and i found that i should have disconnected my battery. I will do that tonight.
I think my leak might be where the piping connects to the intercooler. Is there an eaiser way of connecting this?

thanks

I've found that the best way to connect a new uicp to the intercooler, is to take the screws off the spash gaurd on the drivers side and reach up through there. Make sure they are on as tight as you can get them, as they will blow off under boost. If you suspect you have a boost leak, make a pressure tester that hooks up to an air compressor. It will show you exactly where the leak is without all the engine noise. Helpful tool!

is there a vfaq on the pressure tester?

everything is fixed reset the ecu and the check engine light went away.
tighted everything up and it seems to be running great.
there is a little flutter with the bov under low boost..but other than that it is great

Is it a water pouring sound, or is it more of a whistling sound?

If it's whistling, it is a boost leak in your intercooler piping somewhere. Agreed, perform a leak test via the VFAQ as stated earlier.

If water, is there any puddles under your car? If not, I guess you know it's not a coolant line leaking.

Let us know what fixes the problem.
