New Clutch, Big Problem

ok i just installed my new clutch with my friend's help and all, but now i have some major issues.

When i try and start the car it doesn't want to start, but eventualy it does...

the clutch is really soft and it doesn't seem to be dissengauging because i can't shift gears, however it did start(after about 20 secs ) when it was in gear the first time and i had a hard time geting it out of gear, as though the clutch wasn't down.

please help, i fuxored something up it looks like

Sounds like you need to adjust the clutch pedal. I had a similar experience when I installed my new clutch.

Try this link to see how to adjust at the pedal. It's for a 1G, but the lock nut and rod are basically the same for a 2G.

i doubt you need to adjust it but for some reason when you remove the slave cylinder from the tranny air gets into the line even if you dont mess with it.

you probally need to bleed the clutch system, theres two ways, the 2 person pedel way ( crap)

or you can make your own pressure bleeder useing a extra clutch cap( any auto parts store or satan), some hose and a garden weed sprayer..

ya..good point, did u bleed the clutch? i thought this was a no brainer but if its ur first time u miht miss a strp or two.

ya first timer here, since i didn't take off the lines i didn't think i'd have to bleed it, so i wasn't even thinking about it. I'll try that here soon as i get a friend to come over, since i don't have a ride anywhere to make my own lil do it yourself deal there that Jott5555 mentioned

Hmmm...

I didn't touch the hydraulic lines when I changed my clutch. I didn't have to bleed it.

yep... bleeding the clutch did the trick, just forgot to plug in the spedo sensor....... fuk, i'll fix that tomorrow, but she runs great. THanks
