i think it is a turbo problem???

some times when i am driving my RPM's won't go higher than a certain point. usually it is like 4k RPM's. I think it is the turbo, but i am not sure.

any suggestions

I wouldnt say its the turbo cause you can drive your car with out it it wouldnt affect your rpm did you check to see if your MAF was plugged in I had that happend once.
