I just got a 90 TSI AWD so i don't know that much about it. when i first go the car i didn't think about it and just put 89 gas in it...that's what i used to put in my old car. so needless to say, it didn't run too good. now that i have emptied that gas out and put 93 in...it still sputters pretty bad when i start to boost. i know that it has the MAF in it so that was my first guess. Is it possible that I have messed up the plugs and wires? or might there be a leak in one of the i/c couplers? please give me some help even if you just have a slight idea, it will be appreciated. im not familiar with these cars at all, but im workin on it

thank you

Try to reset your ecu. When the ecu detects a certain amount of knock (89 octane prolly set it off) Computer retards the timing and all kinds of other crap for like 20 Starts. Just try it. It's free and easy. Take off battery cable for a minute or two. Easy.

Hope this works.

yea...i hope this works too..i was lookin for somethin free and easy :) my type of thing...it kinda felt like the timing was off and i was told to get it checked but it's done by the computer so i didn't think that it would be off...i'll try it and see what happens...thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Im kinda havin the same problem. It is irregular though, only happens sometimes. When it does it feels like the car is almost braking lightly when the boost hits. The boost guage is going to full boost, but i aint gettin power. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried the battery solution and no dice so, anything else free and easy would be nice LOL..
