Stock Boost guage stopped working and now backfires.

I was cruising around last night and I gunned it to the top of 2nd. Car studdered and I shut down. Then I take off from a stop and my car backfires when I let off. Moments later I saw that my stock boost guage stopped working. The car also, feels slower then usual. I know the stock boost guage is sh*t and I have another one, but I dont know why all of this would happen when the stock guage reads NOTHING. It doesnt move at all, but my other guage reads fine, 20 vacuum at idle and 15 psi at max.

I am clueless as of now. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm thinking something with my mas or maybe some vac lines got messed up. How exactly does the stock guage work? I know its an estimate, but isn't read by the mas?

Does your exhaust sound like crap? and is it still backfiring? If so it could be a whole in your exhaust, it won't hurt anything but it will be very annoying. As for the stock boost gauge they do break and are pretty much useless when they are working right anyway.

yes the stock gauge does run off of calculations from the MAF. check and make sure that it is still plugged in and check to see if maybe your intake hose going to the turbo is still connected and has no leaks. if it isn't connected or has leaks, the computer is only putting in fuel for the amount of air going through the MAF (none) and there is no air going through so the boost gauge wont work either. If that is not the problem then I dont know what is.
