Yesterday I notice my clutch pedal starting to feel a little stiff.
it still seems to work fine, the car is still shifting fine and so on, clutch is not slipping or anything.
Clutch pedal seems stiff and the best way I can discribe it is its "jittery" going on, as in when you press down on the clutch pedal you can almost feeling it in your foot going in an inch at a time, you press down and it feels as if its going in, that pause then in then pause.
it is not a smooth motion that used to be.
I clecked the fluid and its fine, right on the mark where it used to be, I check the linkages under the dash and I gave then a little bit of lubricant to see if that was it but its still doing it.
It started doing it for a few hours or so, then went back to 100% normal, then started doing it again, went back to normal for a small period of time and now its messed up again.
I dont know what it could be, air in the system ? bleed the slave cylinder ? Slave cylinder gone ?

The car is a 97 Talon Tsi AWD.

what should I do, what could it be ?

checked the slave cyl, no leaks, all lines re dry. good clean fluid in the resivooir.
I did not try to bleed it tho, might give that a try next, dont know how air could have gotton in there tho.

still open to advice/idea on this problem

i had the same problem as you turned out my pressure plate was messed up ...bleeding didn't help new slave didn' t help......u could try and run a ss line maybe that would help

i hate to tell you this but i had the same problem with my 95 tsi i finally found out what was wrong with it after a couple of thousand miles later i had crank walk the rod flew through the oil pan i have pics if you wanna see.

thats the first signs of the inevitable crankwalk in your crap 7 bolt. is there any strange ticking? if so, time to swap a 6 bolt. :D

CrankWalk.... :thumbdown
no ticking, no noises, no nothing, everything works and looks great.

out of about 30 people ive asked and talked to 20 said realease bearing is dry on the shaft causeing it to feel like that.
7 people said slave cylinder and 3 said crankwalk is coming my way..

im still unsure about it and its still doing it.

what makes you guys say crank walk ? any specifics ?

those were my first signs that i got when i started to get crank walk have you done all the other stuff people have been telling you it might be. i read it on a magazine just a couple of days ago and it reminded of what i had thats the same feel the clutch started getting sticky. well just trying to help out.

I havent pulled the tranny yet to grease up the shaft and release bearing. im trying to make sure thats the prob befor i pull the tranny out.

can you discribe your pedal feel the best way you can ? that way I can compair them and take it from there.
