I'll try my best to describe the situation to you because I am stumped. This is long, but I really really need your help.

Ever since I've owned my 95 GSX with a 6 bolt, its been gettin the alternator warning lights (radiator, batt, and brake light). They slowly flash on and off sometimes they dim on and off. The guy who sold me the car tells me that they started doing that ever since he swapped in the flydyne radiator. Says he hasn't had a problem, which is bs but thats another story.

Anyways, I know this is a sign of alternator problems so I take the car in to get checked. He says everything is fine and alternator is in perfect condition. He thinks that maybe its just some short in the dashboard making the lights flash. I leave, car runs fine, but lights flash.

About a month ago my mom left the door open for a few days and killed the battary. I replaced it and ever since then its been having trouble starting. It takes about 2 tries to get it started and my volt meter on my turbo timer reads only 12 volts sometimes 10 for about 10 seconds and then it runs fine and reads 14 volts. If I leave it for more then 2 hours it has trouble starting, but usually starts right up less then 2 hours.

I checked the fuse, changed the battary again, had the alt. tested again. Everything is reading fine on the tests. Car has trouble starting and the lights flicker. I really truly doubt its starter trouble because its always started fine and never shown signs of problems. This seems to be some sort of electrical problem stemming from the alt. Lights always flicker, sometimes not for an hour but usually they still do. The alternator is only about a year old also.

Could this POSSIBLY be that the alternator belt isnt the right tension? Someone has to know and I really dont want to take it to a dealer. Please help me and thank you ahead of time.

did you try checking all the electrical connections on the actual alternator? I know when my alternator went out in my 6bolt the same lights were always on, things like windsheidl wipers and auto seat belts moved way slow, and defroster never worked. Also when i braked the sterio would cut out. Did you check to make sure you bought a battery that produces the right amount of volts? Who did u hae check your alternator? Id have like oreilys or something take out their fancy pancy checking and they check ur alternator and battery. If all else fails, maybe you could check your fuses and see if they are turning black or there is a crack in one? Not sure if this helps. But Oh well. See ya.

I also had the dash light flickering, and other weird lighting, but it was only the plug on the upper left hand side of the dashboard (if you were laying on the floor and look up by the clutch. It was loose and we pulled everything apart before finding it.
