Recently aquired a 96 GST for $4K with what the previous owner said was a blown motor. Said the valvetrain was redone because of a timing belt skipping a few teeth....2 months later the car died again and been sitting almost a year.
The spark plug wires are STUCK in the head. We did everything we could to get the boots out but no luck. The only thing we removed was the rubber boot and cut the wire. The plastic piece on the inside is still on the plug. Previous owner litteraly took a hole saw to remove one of them. There is what appears to be coolant in the oil, Rust ALL over the cams (we took the VC off.)
So.. what should I do about the plug wires/plugs? remove the head and take them out that way? I'm thinking of a 6 bolt swap (rebuilding the 6 bolt first of course) and saying screw even fooling with the 7 bolt.
