ahhh yet another problem. recently changed my oil. and upon backing it out of the driveway(auto) i put it in reverse and hit the gas...nothing...i revved up to about 5k and she finally started to moved backwards. get it into the street to see if it'll drive and same hesitation, i get it in drive rev to about 5k and she starts to move a lil bit..i hit 17psi and it feels like it takes about an hour to hit 30mph. im blowing clouds of white smoke, and the car just isnt moving. car wont rev past 5400rpm. i get back in the driveway and there's oil everywhere, cant even tell where it's coming from. (no oil in the coolant so its not a head gasket) i check the dipstick, it looks like i got about 12quarts of oil in there, it marks about halfway up the entire sitck, i found 6 specs of metal shavings upon redraining the oil. any ideassss???????????

I had a similar situation with my non-DSM. ( I feel that every DSM owner should have a primary and secondary vehicle - this is good advice for fresh newbs).

My Buick Lesabre would do the same sort of thing. The engine would be running SO hard. 0-30 time would be about 6-7 seconds. We found out that it was a lack of transmission fluid. My advice, based on experience, would be to check the tranny fluid. Good luck! And PLEASE make sure and come back to finish this forum whenever you find your solution. Thanks! I'm so sick of unfinished threads.:talon:

Yea I agree, sounds like trans was emptied and put oil in the engine, way overfilling it.
Were the metal specs in the trans fluid or in the engine oil?
