ringing/squeal in rear brakes?

When I drive, after about 5 minutes, I get a sound from my rear drivers side wheel, almost a ringing sound.

The sound stops when you apply the break.

Also that wheel usually squeaks the first time I apply the brakes in the morning or a few times after a rain.

Drum brakes, whaddya thing? New pads, prob solved?

Pads might be constiantly rubbing. (distance them if so)

Looks like I was wrong, I'm getting the ringing after driving a few minutes, but it's in the front driver's side brake.

So that'd be a disk brake instead of the rear drum.

Also, when driving, when it starts to ring, if i steer right, about half the time it will stop ringing, and will get slightly louder if i steer left.

Again, ringing stops when I apply brake.

Any suggestions, ideas? The warning sound of worn pads doesn't come during normal driving correct? Only when applying brake?

any help here? I don't know what would be ringing randomly during driving. If it did it all the time, or during specific actions, it'd be easier to pinpoint.

The only specific action that does anything is braking to stop/reduce the noise.

check the brake pads. i know i have that same ringing sound with my 92 gs. i think im gunna get new pads and rotors soon.

Also check wheel bearings and CV joints.
